Onions
Onions are a widely used and essential vegetable known for their strong aroma, sharp flavor, and layers of edible flesh covered by a thin papery skin. They come in different types, such as red, white, and yellow onions, and are commonly used in both raw and cooked dishes around the world, including in Rwanda.
Onions are rich in vitamins C and B6, antioxidants, and minerals like potassium, which help boost the immune system, improve heart health, and support digestion. They also contain natural compounds with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
